Folding down the large center armrest in the second row and with its 60:40 split, it lends the new Xpander’s occupants captain-like seats. The large armrest now offers cup holders, but with it raised, the middle row can comfortably accommodate 3 adults with much headroom to spare than any other vehicle in its class. It also slides fore and aft for easy access to the third row.

ACTIVE STABILITY CONTROL (ASC)
More stable on slippery surfaces
If wheels lose their grip on slippery surfaces or while turning, ASC automatically adjusts engine output and applies braking force at the appropriate wheels to help maintain control and prevent skidding.
HILL START ASSIST (HSA)
Making hill starts easy
Hill Start Assist makes starting on a steep slope really easy. It holds the brake on for up to two seconds until you press the accelerator. So you need never worry about rolling back again.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS)
Greater control when braking
The anti-lock brake system helps prevent the wheels from locking up during emergency braking so you can maintain greater steering control, even on slippery roads.
ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD)
Working in tandem with ABS, EBD distributes the pressure to all 4 wheels evenly, reducing the braking distance.
EMERGENCY STOP SIGNAL SYSTEM (ESS)
Keep motorists behind you safe
The Emergency Stop Signal System means If you brake hard, the hazard lights automatically flash to warn vehicles behind you. This is something most of our competitors have yet to offer and can help to reduce the possibility of rear-end collisions.
RISE Body
The new Xpander is equipped with Mitsubishi’s proprietary Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body. This engineering design is made of energy-absorbing sections called crumple zones which absorbs energy in the event of collisions. The cabin is reinforced to provide protection to the passengers. Force is safely directed away from the cabin and dispersed through the RISE body reducing damage.
BRAKE ASSIST (BA)
Also activated immediately when you hit the brakes suddenly, BA increases the pressure of the braking fluids to shorten the braking distance.
Pedestrian Protection
In a collision with a pedestrian, the points of contact are likely to be the hood for the head and bumper for the legs. Therefore, we built an impact-absorbing structure in the front-end of the vehicle to help minimize injuries for everyone.
Side Door Impact Beam
All 4 doors are equipped with a support beam that increases passenger protection by helping to reduce door deformation in the event of a side collision.
COMING HOME LIGHT
Pull the turn signal level towards you within 60 seconds after turning the engine off to activate the Coming Home Lights. Your front headlamps will shine low beams for 30 seconds.
WELCOME LIGHT
When you unlock the car with the remote control, the welcome headlamps (low beams) and rear lamps will be activated for 30 seconds. They only work when you have the headlamps switched to OFF.
